What really happens in a chemical reaction!

As most scientists know alkali metals are extremely reactive with water. All have combustible reactions and can be dangerous if used improperly. The metals if in a drop-like form or in thin sheets with more surface area exposed gives a quicker more violent reaction, whereas the more block form has a slower less powerful reaction because of the amount it has to dissolve. This basically states that the more surface area a metal has, the bigger BOOM it makes.
